The Blitz has gone great with plenty of help and wonderful weather. Roof sheathing is on and Monica’s home is “dried in”. Shingles will be delivered Tuesday, windows are to be in Wednesday, plumbers have been notified to start Thursday. Thanks to all the volunteers that have been coming out and thanks be to God for the wonderful weather! Let’s keep rolling!

What a great turnout for the deck build! Glad to see the familar faces and even a few new ones. We were blessed with great weather and hope it holds out for Blitz week. Dave Deger and his crew from Korrect Plumbing were out as well hooking up the sewer and water services. Pod got delivered, even saw Monica out checking out her new home! Thanks for all who showed up today and hope to see you Saturday as well.
Thanks and God bless you all for your generosity,

What a beautiful start to a georgeous week! Sunday’s weather was perfect and we pray that it continues this week so the start of Monica Henderson’s home will be a great success. Hope to get the deck framed and porch poured before the start of Blitz week which starts this Saturday. Hope to see all the familar faces and some new ones as well! Happy hammering!

Counting down to Blitz Week! Only 8 days to go to get started on Monica’s new dream home! If you haven’t done so there is still time to sign up for Blitz Week. Long range forecast looks great, so come on down and bring your nail pounders, blink and you’re sure to miss some action!

Dayton Ohio Habitat for Humanity, in partnership with God and all people of faith and good will, seeks to eliminate substandard housing in Montgomery County. We renovate or build new, decent and affordable housing that will strengthen individuals, their families and their neighborhoods through home ownership. Families apply to us to earn a house of their own. Once accepted into the program, our “Partner Families” work alongside our many volunteers to build their house. They put in 275 to 550 hours of “sweat” equity before earning their home, which is then sold to them for the cost of materials and any contracted
work on an interest-free mortgage.

Dayton Habitat is recruiting volunteers to work alongside Lakecia, who has completed homeownership classes and earned sufficient ”sweat equity” to build a safe, decent, affordable house for her and her children. Once they move in, Lakecia will begin paying her no-interest mortgage to help other families in need build healthier homes in which their children can learn & grow.
